Be a "Friends of Arataki" Volunteer

When you join our organisation, we may like to know your areas of interest. One or more of the following may interest you!

Hands On Volunteer Work

If you have an interest in physical volunteer work in the park, we can head you in that direction.  The Auckland Regional Council welcomes volunteers to work in pest control,  track maintenance, weed control, beach clean ups, plantings, nursery assistance and help with their education programmes, in the particular the Bush Camp with schoolchildren.

Sausage Sizzle

If you would like to help our organisation by joining the monthly sausage sizzle roster (last Sunday of the month) at Arataki, or if you can provide baking for this, please phone Joan Owen on 815 1506.

Friends of Arataki Kids Day

This is held annually at the Arataki Visitor Centre, with fun activities organised for children and their families.  We always welcome assistance on food stalls, and with children’s activities on this day.

Park Seats

If you have basic handyman skills, you might like to assist in the construction of park seats, we typically have around 4-6 requests per year.  Contact Yvonne Pivac  on Ph 827 3803.

Native Tree Planting

Join us and the other ARC volunteers to plant native trees. The Sunday family planting days combine a lot of fun with some physical exercise and help regenerate the native bush! Please click here for details.

Committee

We are always looking for new people and fresh ideas, so if you would like to contribute to the running of our friendly organisation, contact Yvonne Pivac on 827-3803.
