Monthly Events for 2008

February 17th Friends of Arataki AGM.

Held at the Arataki Centre our AGM included the appointment of Bill Beveridge to Co-Patron of the Friends of Arataki. The AGM was followed by two very interesting speakers. Sandra Coney, (Chair, Parks and Heritage) spoke about upcoming projects and events in the Auckland Regional Parklands and Arnold Turner(Co-Patron of the Friends of Arataki) spoke of the history of Huia, in particular the Jackies Point  This was followed by a BBQ and some of the famous home baking of the Friends' members.

March 9th Oxfam Walk for Survival.

The Friends participate in this annual event by manning a BBQ and cake stall at the end of this walk at Greenwoods corner. This is an opportunity for the Friends to raise funds for future projects for the Arataki Centre and the Waitakere Parkland. A great social event where Friends get to meet many people and promote our work within the Waitakeres. Volunteers are always welcome to participate in this event.
